DAN'S BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Dan Shores was born and raised on the South Shore of Massachusetts in a blue-collar family. He worked to put himself through college and law school, and is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC, where he served on the editorial board of the Georgetown Law Review.
Dan has led a distinguished legal career as a DC-based litigator in high stakes intellectual property and business cases with premier law firms including a global firm with over 2,000 attorneys worldwide. He has handled a wide range of complex matters requiring strong analytical and litigation skills and while in DC was a member of the Republican National Lawyer's Association.
Dan returned home to Massachusetts after thirteen years in DC and ran for the United States Congress in the Ninth Congressional District, and now works as a Boston-based attorney in a firm Dan founded. Having run for Congress, Dan is well aware of what it takes to run in a major race.
Dan is a member of the bars of Massachusetts, DC, the Federal Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court, having submitted briefing as counsel of record in a matter before the U.S. Supreme Court. Dan is the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, a position he is very proud to hold supporting such a high-quality institution.
WHY DAN IS RUNNING
Dan is a lifelong Republican who is running for Attorney General to restore common sense, integrity and the rule of law to our Attorney General’s office in Massachusetts.
As taxpayers, we provide millions of dollars each year to that office to ensure that our laws are enforced and our people are protected.
Unfortunately, the present attorney general has spent too much time and money filing politically-motivated lawsuits and undermining our laws. Dan believes that is wrong.
WHAT DAN WILL DO AS ATTORNEY GENERAL
As your next Attorney General, politics will not cloud Dan’s judgment or interfere with the administration of justice, especially when it comes to rooting out public corruption, fighting crime, and keeping us safe right here in Massachusetts.
Dan plans to reform the Attorney General's office from within, to get politics out of that office, and return it to its true purpose of enforcing our laws to protect the people of Massachusetts. See Dan's Issues Page to see where Dan Stands on specific issues like illegal immigration, opioids, second amendment, and public corruption.
Dan has all of the tools to do so at his disposal, with his hard-working blue-collar upbringing on the South Shore, extensive legal experience, public service experience, and deep love and respect for all of the people of Massachusetts.
Please support Dan to make him the first Republican Attorney General to serve the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 50 years.
